We can never know outcomes. We might think we get what we want and it ends there, but the full outcome of everything we attempt to control is never that cut and dried. There is what we perceive to be the outcome and what ends up being the outcome. You have some evidence of this in your life if you consider it. From a first exam to what career unfolds for you even in your later life, we might think the outcome was to get a good grade when the outcome may never be fully realized. You see, perceived outcomes affect our trajectory but they are not the destination.
What will your day bring your way? When you perceive any outcome, take a moment and ask, ‘What else?’ or ‘Where will this perceived outcome invite me to go?’ and ‘Am I willing to forego resistance and allow myself to be guided?’ May you find your outcomes lead you to curiosity, playfulness, and wonder.
