Hamilton-Fford Publishing
Books with a place to belong
Hamilton-Fford Publishing is the publishing home for the books of Jean Hamilton-Fford — a small independent house shaped around the work itself rather than the machinery of publishing.
Not a publishing service.
Hamilton-Fford Publishing does not currently accept outside submissions. It exists to give our own books a coherent home, while allowing very different kinds of work to retain their own character.
The House
One home. More than one kind of book.
Some books begin with an idea that will not leave you alone. Others begin with a story, a curiosity, a strange little doorway into somewhere unexpected.
Hamilton-Fford Publishing was created to make room for both.
Rather than asking every book to wear the same clothes, the house contains distinct imprints. Each one carries its own tone and territory while remaining part of the same publishing lineage.
The Imprints
Different shelves within the same house
Lovingly Disruptive
Books that question inherited assumptions, return attention to the human, and make room for a more grounded conversation.
Lovingly Disruptive is the home for reflective nonfiction, human-centered inquiry, cultural observation, inner work, and writing that gently unsettles what has become too familiar to notice.
The imprint is interested in the forces that shape a life — the stories we absorb, the systems we inherit, the language we use, and the patterns we carry without examining them closely.
Its books invite readers to pause, look again, and meet familiar questions from a different angle. The disruption is not there for shock. It creates room for greater clarity, agency, and a more conscious relationship with the world we are helping to shape.
Curious Matters
Curious Matters is the home for fiction and nonfiction that explores the mysteries woven through human life.
Its territory includes cultural, political, societal, and human-centered mysteries — the stories beneath the story, the unseen influences around us, and the layers of meaning that can sit inside seemingly ordinary lives and events.
Mystery here is not confined to crime scenes, locked rooms, or distant histories. It lives in the systems we move through, the choices people make, the things left unsaid, and the unexpected connections that change what we thought we understood.
Through story, inquiry, and exploration, Curious Matters invites readers to notice more of the layered world already around them.
The Lineage
The publishing house grew around the books, not the other way around.
Hamilton-Fford Publishing is not an attempt to imitate a large traditional publisher on a smaller scale. It is an infrastructure built around a body of work that has been developing across years, subjects, forms, and seasons of life.
Some earlier books sit beside newer work because they are part of that lineage. They show where certain questions first appeared, where a voice was forming, or where an idea began before it had the language it carries now.
The result is not a perfectly uniform catalogue. It is something more useful: a record of work in motion.
